I am trying to get the discussions going that you all asked for but I got no responses to my last one...
If you would rather leave this community quiet then I am fine with that.  With that, I am trying a topic one more time and hope to get some discussion out of it.

Today's Topic:
What are you thoughts or concerns about the new stimulus package and new budget just turned in to congress from President Obama (that still sounds really cool to me to say)?  Do you think it's too much?  Not enough?  What parts do you think will actually help or hurt the economy? Anything in it you think is directed toward us women?

Thanks!

I'd love to see these discussions flourish too. Do you think it might reach more people if we posted to obama_2008 instead of this community? Or do you think it might get lost there?

I haven't had a chance to look through the budget yet, but I think the funding for healthcare is probably my favorite part. I know so many people (myself included) who are uninsured and who are foregoing services because they have no insurance (and no other way to pay for it). It's time for that to change in this country. It also makes me angry that one person I know who is about to lose his health insurance (and who has been unemployed for over a year) is most likely against the changes despite the fact that he would benefit from them. He watches entirely too much Faux News. *sigh*

I had to leave the obama_2008 group because of all the stupidity that was getting posted there....it was giving me a headache!

I love the fact that he is venturing into healthcare already but I worry that he is taking on too much too fast and those independents that have been standing behind him will be losing faith and that scares me about his re-election chances.
And I do see things in the stimulus package that is not really stimulus related. I think it is sad to see considering how bad this country needs it. I don't blame Obama for this, I blame the House and Senate...the part of Washington that really needs to change in Washington now that we got rid of Dubya.
